Missing The Adirondacks

I know in my heart of hearts it is not a place that I miss, but a notion, a dream, a picture in my mind, barely formed, vague, yet as familiar as an old friend. I wonder how many other things, thoughts, pictures, hopes, dreams are in the way.......

Stephen shared that a young man that had been in his music group at W.C.Y, four or five years ago, spoke with him on the phone. He had stopped by the office while Stephen was out and left a picture of himself. He told Stephen that he joined the service and had completed boot camp and was headed for a base in Alaska. He told Stephen how much his music program and the chaplaincy department had ministered to him and how thankful he was to have a changed life. Paul wrote about greeting one another with a brotherly kiss, I cannot help but to see in my minds eye Jesus greeting Stephen with such an embrace as he obediently let go of the life we envisioned for ourselves and followed that still quiet voice. It is my prayer that the noise of our notions, dreams and hopes will never become so loud as to block out the voice of our Lord.
