“Even when I am old and grey, do not forsake me, O God, till I declare your power to the next generation, your might to all who are to come.” Psalm 71:18

From The Desk Of Stephen:

“Oh what I would do to have the kind of faith it takes to stand before a giant, with just a sling and a stone”.
Those words from a popular Christian song reflect a part of David’s life as he found himself face to face with the mighty Goliath. Armed with a sling and five smooth stones, David faced the mighty giant.
To Goliath David was no match, and as far as Goliath was concerned, soon perish. What Goliath did not count on was David’s connection with God.
It was David’s connection with God that made the difference. The day that David defeated Goliath, God was with him. David would live a life not of perfection, but a life focused on seeking God with all of his heart.
A young man that I have been working with recently told me that he wanted to live his life for God and help others find faith in God. This young man has been in several facilities and has been separated from his family for several years. The young man went on to say that he wants to finish school and attend seminary so that he can become a youth pastor. This young man has been standing in front of a giant with just a sling and a stone for a while now, and the one thing that will make the difference is his connection with God. I have no doubt that this young man will win his battle.
